Hi! I’m Mimi, the creative hands and heart behind every single piece you’ll find here at Mimiz.

  If you’d told my younger self that I’d one day be running a handmade jewelry and crochet business from the French countryside, I never would have believed you. I’ve always been in love with animals and fascinated by their behaviors,  so much so that I originally set out to study veterinary medicine. But after realizing it wasn’t all about cuddles and playtime, I turned toward zoology, where I discovered my true passion: marine life. Working in conservation and caring for whales and dolphins filled me with awe, and perhaps it’s no coincidence that my very first crochet creation was a tiny whale. During the quiet, uncertain days of the Covid lockdown, I picked up a crochet hook for the first time and made that tiny whale.

That little creation sparked something in me, the joy of crafting something with my own two hands. From that moment, I was hooked (quite literally!). I went from making keyrings to scarves and jumpers, and soon after, discovered another creative passion: polymer clay jewelry. My inner child was thrilled, I used to make jewelry out of anything I could find, from daisy chains to beads, and even borrowed a few of my mum’s pieces when I was little! After moving from a small UK town to the peaceful French countryside to be closer to family, I began crafting from my tiny home studio, and often from the sofa, coffee in hand, a cozy film playing as I crocheted. One day, someone saw what I was making and asked if I had a shop.

That moment gave me the confidence to turn my passion into a little dream come true: Mimiz. Every piece you see here is made with care, high-quality materials, and a whole lot of love, from my hands, my home, to yours. Thank you for supporting my small dream.
